Kunju turned to leave. She bid adieu to us and waved for an auto. An auto promptly stopped to pick her up. Then it occurred to me; she had no money left with her after our little celebration. She was the bakra that day – she was made to settle the bill. How was she gonna pay for the auto? I hurried towards her.
The auto was almost in motion with kunju inside it. I caught up with her and asked, “Hey do you have any money left with you?” She replied after a momentary pause, “No”. “Then how are you going to pay the fare? Here – keep this cash”. “No. That’s okay. I will manage. I have my credit card with me. I will pay the auto fare with it.”
